Seattle tour FAQs
Find answers about pickups, private tours, and planning your day.
Private & custom tours
A day built around your group.
Are your Seattle tours private?
Yes. Your tour is just for your group, with your own guide and vehicle. We don’t combine you with other parties, so we can adjust the stops and pace around what interests you.
Can we customize the itinerary?
Absolutely. Tell us what you’re excited to see, what you’ve already visited, and anything you’d prefer to skip. We can focus on Seattle highlights, neighborhoods, local history, scenic viewpoints, or engineering, and adjust the route to fit your time.
How long is the Seattle City Tour, and can we add more time?
The standard Seattle City Tour is three hours. Longer private tours can allow more time for lunch, additional neighborhoods, or attraction visits. Extra time is subject to availability, so ask in advance and we’ll confirm the price and schedule.
Our flight is late in the evening. Can you help us plan a longer day?
Yes. We can discuss a longer custom tour, depending on availability. If our schedule doesn’t allow an extension, we can suggest things to do independently after the tour. Tell us your flight time and priorities so we can work out a realistic plan.
Can we combine the Seattle City Tour and Engineering Tour?
Yes. The routes overlap, so we can combine highlights from both into one private tour. Around five hours can work well, with additional time needed if you want an extended visit to Pike Place Market. We’ll tailor the plan to your interests and pace.
Can we include Snoqualmie Falls or North Bend in a custom tour?
Yes. We can discuss a private itinerary featuring Snoqualmie Falls and North Bend, or a longer day combining Seattle sightseeing with a waterfall stop. Share your available time and pickup and drop-off plans so we can put together an itinerary and quote.
Pickups, cruises & flights
Plan the start and finish of your day.
Can you pick us up after our cruise and drop us off at Sea-Tac Airport?
Yes. Our private Seattle City Tour can begin at your cruise terminal and finish at Sea-Tac Airport, with airport drop-off included in the tour price. Send us your ship, terminal, expected disembarkation time, and flight details so we can plan the day.
Do you offer airport or cruise transfers without a tour?
We focus on private guided tours and don’t offer standalone airport or cruise transfers. Pickup and drop-off can be arranged as part of your tour. If you only need transportation, we recommend contacting Lux Ride Seattle for availability and a quote.
Can you pick us up at our hotel or vacation rental?
Yes. We arrange tour pickups at downtown Seattle hotels, airport-area hotels, and vacation rentals. Send us the full address so we can confirm the arrangements. For a vacation rental, there needs to be a safe place for the vehicle to load and unload.
Can our tour start at the airport?
Yes. We can plan a private tour beginning with Sea-Tac Airport pickup and ending at your hotel. Share your flight arrival time, group size, and sightseeing interests so we can recommend a suitable tour length and itinerary.
Can we finish somewhere different from where we started?
Yes. Depending on your plans, we can arrange to finish at your hotel, the airport, a cruise terminal, or a sightseeing stop such as Pike Place Market. Let us know your preferred endpoint when planning the tour so we can work it into the route and timing.
How do you plan a tour around our flight?
We plan the route and pickup time around your flight departure and agreed airport arrival time. Please send the flight details for everyone in your group, especially if you’re on different flights. We’ll recommend a tour length that fits your available time.
What if we’re delayed getting off our cruise ship?
Let us know as soon as you have an update. We monitor port schedules and can discuss adjusting your pickup if disembarkation is delayed. Any change needs to fit your flight or other onward plans and the guide’s schedule.
What if my hotel isn’t listed or my pickup plans change?
Reply to your confirmation email with the full pickup address and any timing changes. We’ll confirm the arrangements and update your booking. Please send changes as early as possible so we can check how they affect the route and schedule.
Families & accessibility
Make sure the tour fits everyone.
How much walking is involved?
The Seattle City Tour is primarily a driving tour with sightseeing stops and light walking. We can keep walks shorter, allow breaks, and adjust the pace to your group. Guests are welcome to stay in the vehicle at stops where they prefer not to walk. Please tell us about any mobility needs before booking.
Is your minibus wheelchair accessible?
Our minibus is not wheelchair accessible and has three large steps to enter. Guests need to be able to board using those steps. Please contact us before booking if anyone in your group uses a wheelchair or mobility scooter so we can discuss whether the tour and vehicle will work for them.
Are your tours suitable for children and grandparents traveling together?
Yes. Private tours let us move at your family’s pace and balance different interests. We can work in snack or ice cream stops, a playground break, and sights such as the Fremont Troll alongside Seattle’s classic highlights. Tell us the children’s ages and any mobility needs when you inquire. For a family outing idea, read our guide to Pacific Science Center with kids.
How many people can your minibus accommodate?
Our minibus seats up to 13 guests, plus the driver. Larger groups are welcome to inquire about a custom tour. We can arrange a quote with a larger vehicle based on your group size, date, and itinerary. Request a larger-group tour quote before booking.
Stops, attractions & meals
Choose how you spend your time.
Can we visit the Space Needle or Chihuly Garden and Glass during the tour?
Yes, we can build those visits into a longer custom itinerary. Admission is separate unless your quote specifically includes tickets. If you’d rather spend more of your tour exploring Seattle, we can include Space Needle photo stops instead. Tell us your preference before booking so we can allow enough time.
Is Pike Place Market a guided stop or free time?
On the three-hour City Tour, an optional Pike Place Market visit is free time to explore independently and may replace other stops. We can also finish near the Market so you can stay longer. Pike Place Market visits are self-guided; we do not offer guided Market tours.
Can we stop for lunch, and is food included?
Yes, we can work a meal or snack stop into the itinerary. For a three-hour tour, a quick, casual stop usually leaves more time for sightseeing. A longer tour gives you more time for a relaxed meal. Food is paid for separately.
